Journey To The Manger Faith And Fitness Challenge

The weather here in Arizona has finally turned! It’s a chilly 65 degrees and I have resurrected my big, puffy jacket from the corner of my closet. I know..I know…for those of you who travel to and fro through snow for the next six-months or so, I will pipe down. I think we can all agree on one thing; it’s the most wonderful time of the year! And we also know it can be the busiest time of the year when if we are not intentional, taking time to soak in the real reason for the season flys out the window during our tenth road trip to the mall.

We wanted to share with you this lovely little idea that sprouted up in our Revelation Wellness Instructor Family Facebook page. One of our gals, Abbe Keen, was just wrapping up her Weigh Less to Feed More group where everyone was in agreement that they didn’t want to lose the momentum, or the new found freedom, they had gained. (Community has a powerful way of creating sustainable momentum). Someone in the group had heard about a book titled “Journey To The Manger” and  before you know it they had created their own little wellness challenge that goes something like this:

Most scholars say the distance that Mary and Joseph traveled to get to Bethlehem was around 90 miles. We challenge you to account for some time, daily, for the next 25 days of moving your heart closer to God. Whether it be actually moving your body outisde to a Reving The Word podcast, or inside to a RevWell TV workout, or simply spending some INTENTIONAL time centering your heart on the gift of Jesus, it all counts as a good thing. Every 15- minutes you spend drawing closer to the heart of God by moving your body or keeping it still before the Lord, you move one mile closer to the manger. How fun is that! Just this morning I moved three miles closer and checked off three boxes on my #JourneyToTheManger worksheet 🙂 Join me!
