When ignorance is bliss

When ignorance is bliss

Revelation Wellness January 2, 2010 (0) comments

This happens every time. When I am about to do something that I KNOW God is saying "Go! Do! And I am with you.", I get the case of the jitters, the fears and I wake in the night with that stupid voice that is opposite of God's and says "What the hell are you doing? You can't do that. Surely you will fail." And the flesh and the spirit wrestle it out. These days I thank God my Spirit in the end always seems to win. Yet sometimes it takes longer  than other times to get to that place where I can shut that stupid voice down because I know that God is saying "GO", I can trust.

Trust is my rest. And back to sleep I can go.

Starting Monday I get to do what I love and love what I do. I get to talk Jesus and teach Fitness. As a community we will get to help others as God helps us get whole. Yet if you asked me EXACTLY what that looks like and EXACTLY how that is going to get done, I could not sell you my business plan. Because THIS is God's business. He owns this venture. He will do the helping and He will make whole.  I say this in the most loving way…He is using me, and nothing makes me happier than that. Ignorance, the lack of knowledge or information, of what God is going to do is my bliss.

Then this morning in my quiet time I read this; (For all of you about to embark on the Weigh Less to Feed More adventure, this is for you too!)

Will You Go Without Knowing?

"Have you ever "gone out" in this way? If so, there is no logical answer possible when anyone asks you what are you doing. One of the most difficult questions to answer in Christian work is "What do you expect to do?" You don't know what you are going to do. The only thing you know is that God knows what He is doing. Continually examine your attitude toward God to see if you are willing to "go out" in every area of your life, trusting in God entirely. It is this attitude that keeps you in constant wonder, because you don't know what god is going to do next. Each morning as you wake, there is a new opportunity to "go out" building your confidence in God. "…do not worry about your life….nor about the body…" (Luke 12:22). In other words don't worry about the things that concerned you before you did "go out".

Have you been asking God what He is going to do? He will never tell you. God does not tell you what He is going to do- He reveals to you who He is.

I guess it is fair to say that even God doesn't like a know it all.
