For most of my life, I thought ambassadors were just government officials that represented a specific country. They lived all over the world, took center stage, and were treated like royalty.  I had never given much thought to what their lives were truly like, except that they would need to have a great love for their country if they were to hold such a position.

Enter Revelation Wellness.

I had the pleasure of being part of Platoon 19. In the initial Zoom call, Alisa shared her vision with us.  She shared that tides were changing, that people had begun to grasp the reality of Jesus being at the center of fitness. Men and women had begun to allow Jesus to change them from the inside out and fill their longings with Himself. The platoons before us had laid the foundation, and through their hard work, it was clear that the harvest was ready.

We were the beginning of an era that would reap the harvest. God was spreading His message through Revelation Wellness, and people were hungering and thirsting for more of Jesus.  As ambassadors, we would be sought out to serve these people!

Alisa called us “The Ambassadors of Abundance.” Wow.  Crazy, right?  That word Ambassador stuck out to me.  She had to be wrong. Me, an Ambassador? I didn’t want to live in another country or be treated like royalty. The chains from my past told me I was going to be under too much pressure, that I would fail. I wasn’t seeking recognition but freedom, and being an Ambassador didn’t sound very freeing!

I decided to look up the meaning of the word Ambassador. The first meaning I found was “An accredited diplomat sent by a country as its official representative to a foreign country.”  The second was “A person who acts as a representative or promoter of a specified activity.” Do you see it? As Revelation Wellness Instructors, we are called to a  foreign country. The foreign country we must serve is a world horribly confused about what true identity means. We are official representatives through the anointing of God to promote the love of God, getting well, being whole, and loving others.

I felt overwhelmed by the idea of being a dignitary for God, but He moved and changed my heart. He showed me that my past can’t hold me down as I seek to love Him and submit to His purpose for my life.  What an honor we have to serve a gracious and merciful King who wants every single heart to know His name. The Bible confirms this in 2 Corinthians 5:10, “We are Christ’s Ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.”

We are all created to serve our Heavenly Father.  We are all given people to minister to.  We are all equipped to fight the good fight and help bring reconciliation to broken hearts. No matter our circumstances, no matter our daily struggles, no matter how lonely the road feels at times. God equips us to do His work around the globe.

Sometimes we think, “There is no way I can do that.” If you look to yourself and your own strength, of course, you cannot do what God has called you to do!  But God can. We serve a God that can move mountains and calm the seas. We serve a God who takes our weakness and works wonders through our lives so that people can see where real power comes from!  All we have to do is say “yes”.

When we say “yes,” we have no idea where “yes” will take us.  We have no idea the hardships and persecution we may face because of saying “yes.”  But this I know, “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,” Isaiah 61:1.

The world needs to see Ambassadors for God on the move. Broken, hurting hearts need to hear gospel truth proclaimed in love. Jesus is THE way. No matter where you are called– to rescue women from sex trafficking, to serve poor and marginalized communities, to care tenderly for the elderly, to give orphans a home, to speak life to your own children–we all have specific places to share the Good News. This is your call, Ambassador for God. This is how we RISE UP!
