This quarter, we’re going to live at the pace of love, keeping in step with the Spirit and not with the world.
Key Points
We move, work, and serve the people around us wholeheartedly.
Living at the pace of love, helps us walk in step with the Spirit.
When we recognize that we’re hustling or striving, trying to move faster and do more, we’ll stop, turn to God, and begin again.
We aren’t trying to keep up with the world, we move where God leads and at the pace God leads.
Resting is essential to love-paced living.
We know that the journey of faith requires endurance. We are patient with ourselves, with others, in joy and in suffering because we know that God is always working.
We are men and women who do not grow weary in doing good (Gal. 6:9). We know that living according to God’s ways are best, even when it comes against the desires of our flesh.
Scripture
“But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us…” Hebrews 12:1
“Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5
“Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7-8
