Do you feel stuck?

Do you feel stuck?

stuck

One of the words the Lord has spoken to me since completing Instructor Training is “be still”. Being still is hard when you’re in a battle. But that’s exactly where God has placed me.

Back at Instructor Training in November 2018, I was battling many lies I had believed for the last several years. These lies revolved around experiences that made me feel like I was not good enough. While this is a lie I’ve wrestled with my whole life, it took me fully captive through an unhealthy relationship with a college boyfriend. We broke up almost four years ago, but before Instructor Training, there was still lingering anxiety, fear, and lies that I couldn’t quite shake. I prayed unceasingly and worked on things personally. I wanted God to help me grow and move forward from that season of life, but I felt stuck.

During retreat, God finally helped me lay down my old self and break the lies I believed. I knew I had broken free from the lie during a special night of retreat.  We were outside after listening to one of the speakers and I felt an overwhelming peace wash over me. A weight was completely lifted from my body and my heart. And as I watched the night sky, I could see God taking away all connection with my past self. My body and heart felt lighter than they had been in years.

God has used this ministry to surround me with people who remind me that I am created by God and I am made new. He is so good in these seasons where we face hard battles because they truly belong to Him and He is watching over us every step of the way.

Throughout this time, God has spoken words of growth, forgiveness, and healing into my heart. I have learned that trauma affects us in our daily lives, but we are not stuck there. We can continue to grow to be who God has created us to be, develop new ways to heal with the help of God and others, and overcome much greater things than we can imagine.

It’s been a season of stillness, but all things have a season when they are dormant or have very little visual growth where all the small things are developing into place. Typically plant roots grow deeper to maintain growth throughout each season. I can say my roots have grown deeper. This challenging season has produced so much growth and shown me God’s sweet words through it all. I pray today that you take a few moments to be still, see where God is working in you and on you, and thank Him for the challenge of growing and changing to be more like Him.

  1. I love your story! I recently experienced a huge change like you are describing so i understand what you are talking about. I just wish that I had been drawn to Jesus at your age instead of in my 50’s and i would have had a much more calming and peaceful life with him in it through the years. But, he always has a plan for us! I’m SO thankful for Revelation Wellness helping me to dig deeper into Him and demonstrating that getting healthy, like many other things, requires a partnership with Him!! Thanks for sharing!!

  2. Thank you For sharing your BEAUTIFUL testimony with all of us! He has been speaking “BE still” over me as well…i love that He has a better plan thaN anything We could imagine. And i love your plant reference! So timely and so Like God! He’s in all of the details, doing some of the most important work in the places we can not “see”. Thank you for fresh perspective!

  3. Chloe, Thank you for your transparency! It blessed me to know I’m not alone with the temptations of FEELING stuck, or fear of missing out. The lord is using this season in my life to prepare me for a great ministry to free people, as he has set me free! Time remaining still in the lord’s presence is not time wasted. Instead, i am learning that time INVESTED in being still in his PRESENCE speaks volumes to the SPIRITUAL realms, because it is there where the weapons of our warfare are, which have the divine power to demolish STRONGHOLDS. it is there where i see where God is working in me and on me, and i thank Him for the challenge of growing and changing to be more like Him! In jesus name!

  4. I am stuck right now!!! In yet another transition in terms of vocation/career/calling. I am unemployed and STRUGGLIng with a spirit of rejection and lack of purpose in life. What i know is that i want this chapter to count!

    1. Oh, Stephanie. I am so sorry! I understand what it is like to struggle with jobs! I actually work at a Workforce Center with people in the same situation you are. You are NOT too old and your purpose has not passed you! The Lord has given you a purpose, to glorify Him in all you do. Maybe you won’t have a glamorous job, but you can still do good work for your community and honor Him. I’ll be praying for you!
