The Move In Love Journal is designed to help you live out God’s Word with your thoughts, emotions, soul, and body, as a fully integrated child of God.

God created us as embodied beings with an integrated heart, mind, soul, and body. We were made to live in the magnificent presence of God where everything we did was saturated with the fruit of the Spirit and glorified God.
But, as a result of the stain of sin on ourselves and the world, our hearts are not bent on walking with the Spirit but on following the desires of our flesh.
We are not naturally spiritually healthy.
But, for those in Christ, “We know that the person we used to be was crucified with [Jesus] to put an end to sin in our bodies. Because of this we are no longer slaves to sin. The person who has died has been freed from sin” (Romans 6:6-7).
Instead of falling to the temptations of our flesh, we can walk by the Spirit in all we do.
If you’ve been a Christian for any length of time, you know walking in the Spirit takes practice and persistent reliance on God. Spiritual health is not a goal you can crush but a sanctification process you approach with humility and faith.
So, what does a journal have to do with spiritual health?
Each section of the Move In Love Wellness Journal is designed to help you live out God’s Word with your thoughts, emotions, soul, and body as a fully integrated man or woman of God.
From experience, we know that prayerfully writing about our daily lives can help us partner with the Spirit to truly live by the Word of God. Even scientific research has found that writing your goals (and telling a friend about them) will help you achieve those goals!
Before we show you how to journal for spiritual health using the Move In Love Wellness Journal, let’s see why it’s a practice worth doing.
Spiritual health is not a goal you can crush, but a sancitification process you approach with humility and faith.

Using the Move In Love Journal
Now that you know why journaling is beneficial for spiritual health, let’s see how the Move in Love Wellness Journal is designed to come alongside you in this journey.
Reading, Writing, and Soaking in Scripture:
“How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” Psalm 119:103, ESV
The first section of the Move in Love Wellness Journal is designed to give you space to read Scripture and write a verse from your reading. Then, you’re invited to be still and intentionally meditate on the passage you read.
From this time of stillness, you are invited to reflect on how you can apply this Scripture to your day. In other words, reflect on how the Scripture helps you view and perform your daily tasks, relationships, work, and life with a biblical perspective.
Gratitude:
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
“This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalm 118:24
When you recount your gratitude to God, you give Him praise. Gratitude also serves as a reminder that God is the sustainer of your life – in seasons of joy and in seasons of sorrow. Every good thing, from a piece of chocolate to healed relationships, is from Him.
Daily Tasks:
“And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17, ESV
In this section, you are invited to write down the top three tasks you want to accomplish that day.
You may be thinking this cannot be enough space. There are countless tasks on your to-do list, and it grows every day.
Friend, we want to remind you that you are limited. Your time is limited. Your attention is limited. Your worth does not come from checked boxes and accomplished chores. We invite you to reflect on the day ahead to identify three tasks to complete.
What I Need:
What do you need for your mind, emotions, soul, and body to walk in the Spirit and glorify God?
Consider the following:
– Which thoughts need to be renewed? Which thoughts need to be taken captive?
– Are there any practices I can do today to renew my thoughts?
– How am I feeling? Which feelings do I need to surrender to God?
– Are there any practices I can do today to feel my feelings, but not do my feelings?
– Are there any desires swelling in my soul? Are these life-giving desires from God? Or are they desires that reflect my anxiety, fear, or people-pleasing?
– How can I pursue my God-given desires today?
– How does my body feel today?
– Are there practices I can do today to care for my body so I can show up to the things God has called me to?
Movement, Water, Sleep:
Sometimes impatience, anger, irritability, and a hopeless outlook on life are simply due to lack of movement, dehydration, and lack of sleep.
We encourage you to track your daily movement, water intake, and sleep to be aware of how these things affect you as a fully-integrated person.
