This month, we’re going to train our hope and move in love! With every movement, we will remember the transformative power of God’s love and exercise our gratitude for His good design of our bodies.

Key Points

We don’t exercise to lose love handles or gain a six-pack. We train to be strong of heart, mind, and body so we can be the hands and feet of Jesus.

We move in love in gratitude for the good bodies God gave us.

We move in love for the good and flourishing of others.

Whether we mow the lawn, take a HIIT class, walk the aisles in the grocery store, or knit a blanket, we do it all for the glory of God.

We don’t move in shame, guilt, anger, or pride, we move in love because God loved us first.

Scripture

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?” Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35
