DAY 7
WID (Work-IN of the Day)
A Warrior Finds Comrades in Arms
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
Mighty Warrior, you are doing well. The Lord is pleased with your faithfulness. There’s something you need to know, though. The battle you were born for is not meant to be fought alone.
No matter how well you train, how effectively you implement your strategies, or how much time you spend with your King and Commander, you need fellow warriors.
You were made to fight your battles in community.
Warriors who fight in partnership have someone to protect their blind spots and defend their backs. They have someone to encourage them when their arms get tired or when they become weary of the battle. They have a band of brothers and sisters to challenge them to meet the call and hold them accountable when they need correction.
Community is a reflection of the very nature of God. He is community; Three-In-One — the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, working together to redeem and restore all of God’s creation. They invite us into partnership, along with other fellow warriors, to fight for the freedom of all God’s children.
The solo warrior wounded on the battlefield has no one to help him heal from his injuries. He has no one to remind him of his mission when the lies and propaganda of the enemy come his way. He has no one to help him watch for ambushes, or relieve him when he needs to rest. He burns out and bleeds out.
The enemy knows that if he can isolate us, he can take us out.
It’s part of why Jesus Himself recruited a cadre of people to surround Himself with. People who he could bring along with Him on the same mission. Men and women committed to His cause. People to laugh and cry with Him. People who would pray with and for Him. People who would share life with Him, and share His burdens. Yes, they often failed Him, and even hurt Him, but He knew that he was better off with them than without them. If the Son of God needed comrades to battle alongside Him, so do you.
Commit yourself to community.
Be like your Commander and fight to find your fellowship. Find trusted comrades who will fight right along with you and for you. Find comrades that you can support and spur on to battle for freedom. Ask your King to appoint them for you, then seek them out and get on mission together.
TRAINING QUESTIONS:
→ Where are you avoiding being vulnerable in community or relationships because of fear or shame?
→ Do you believe that God reveals in order to fully heal?
→ Who is God telling you to ask to be your ‘comrade in arms?’ Will you reach out to that person today?
You’ve done good, hard work. Now it’s time to rest.
Rest is not always a well-received order, but it’s an important one. We rest in order to be restored. We rest so that we can continue to hear clearly from Him, knowing our next assignment is from the Father and not from our own striving to accomplish more.
An important part of being a warrior is equipping yourself with tools to take any place you’re called. Watch Ron’s video, which will help you train safely and effectively in future workouts.
We can’t wait to see you in RevWell TV, warrior!
