DAY 2

WID (Work-IN of the Day)

Warriors Know What They’re Fighting For

“When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness. What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 6:20-23

What battle you were born for?

Warriors who don’t know who they are or what they’re fighting for are half-hearted at best. They’re susceptible to the lies and misinformation of the enemy, and they are in danger of being turned, betraying their King and His Kingdom.

They fight the wrong battles, and they waste their precious time and energy implementing unproductive or even harmful strategies.

God’s Kingdom warriors fight for freedom.

They fight for God’s love, joy, peace, and hope. They fight for the very lives of those around them. They fight for the freedom that is found only in an intimate, loving relationship with Jesus Christ.

This is the battle you were created for.

The role you play in this battle will look different based on the way that your Heavenly Father uniquely created you. Ask Him what front He wants you to battle on. He’s a good, good King and Father, and His purposes for you are for your freedom and the freedom of those around you.

Make no mistake, this is the mission you have been set on. Jesus Christ fought and won the war that you couldn’t, and He set you free for this mission. Your physical, mental, and spiritual freedom has been bought and paid for so you can joyfully go to battle on behalf of others.

When you get caught up in your own mission, fighting from your own strength or to build your own kingdom, you’re setting yourself up for disaster. You’ll find yourself back in the prison He freed you from.

In contrast, when you receive and rest in the identity and authority your King gives you, and you live to fulfill the mission He has sent you on, the result is more freedom for you and others — the abundant life that Jesus promises you in this life and the life to come (John 10:10).

Warrior, it’s time to enlist.
Commit yourself to your King and the battle you were born for so that others might hear, be set free, and live!
