God’s promises are tested, timely, and true.

I keep reminding myself of this truth throughout my life. Recently, it hit me that we tend to give God our attention and acknowledgement if we can perceive exactly how He is keeping His promises. I have learned that witnessing God fulfill His promises for others helps me praise Him. The answered prayers of others gives me hope that one day I will also see all of His promises come true in my life.

How are God’s promises tested? They are tested through tough times, maybe sickness, poverty, unanswered prayers, frustrations, and many other things. Two years ago, I said “yes” and joined Revelation Wellness in Platoon 17. When I say it is one of the best things I’ve done in my life, I mean it. With my decision came many obstacles in my marriage, finances, and health. I faced death’s door many times, but the Lord rescued me time and time again. His promises for me were tested.

When will God fulfill His promises? At the right time. We live our lives with agendas, calendars for this and that, six alarm clocks, and in my situation lately (due to business), two phones.  Many times I have demanded from the Lord that he come through NOW. I am used to having solutions at my fingertips or providing solutions for my staff or ministry leaders that I put the same demands on God. I need it now, I want it today.

I have five children, who are all adopted. My son Nathan was born prematurely. I have learned  that premature birth to someone or something may cause delays. It took him longer to sit, crawl, and walk among other things. Sometimes a premature answer from the Lord will cause delays. Now, I wait and trust that His timing is perfect.

How do I know His promises are true? I can tell you many tangible examples of the way His promises are being fulfilled for my family and myself: a restored marriage, abundance, growth, and health. But today, I want to leave you with His Word, because it is His Word that will never return void.

Numbers 23:19  (NIV)
God is not human, that he should lie,

not a human being, that he should change his mind.

Does he speak and then not act?

Does he promise and not fulfill?

Let us rest in Him. Let us trust that He is working on fulfilling His promises for us. Will you take a deep breath with me right now? Close your eyes for a second, and surrender control. Take another deep breath, and believe.

Las promesas de Dios son probadas, oportunas y verdaderas.

Sigo recordándome esto a través de mi vida.  Recientemente e pensado que a veces sólo prestamos atención si Dios cumple sus promesas para nosotros y es cuando lo reconocemos. He aprendido que ser testigo y alabarlo por haber clumpido sus prmosesas para alguien mas debe de siempre causarme gozo y darme  esperanza de que un día yo veré que todas sus promesas se hagan realidad en mi vida.

¿Cómo son probadas las promesas de Dios? Se prueban a través de los tiempos difíciles, tal vez la enfermedad, la pobreza, las oraciones sin respuesta, las frustraciones y muchas otras cosas. Hace dos años dije que sí y me uní a Revelation Wellness y al peloton 17. Cuando digo que es una de las mejores decisiones de mi vida, lo digo en serio. Con mi decisión vinieron muchos obstáculos en mi matrimonio, las finanzas y en mi salud. Me enfrenté a la puerta de las muerte muchas veces, pero el Señor me rescató una y otra vez. Sus promesas para mí fueron probadas.

¿Cuándo cumplirá Dios su promesa? En el momento adecuado. Vivimos nuestras vidas con agendas, calendarios para esto y eso, seis relojes de alarma y en mi situación últimamente debido mis negocios  dos teléfonos. Muchas veces he exigido al Señor lo mismo porque utilizo soluciones a mi alcance o proveo soluciones para mi personal o líderes Ministerial que pongo la misma exigencia en Dios.  Lo necesito ahora, lo quiero ya. Tengo cinco hijos todos adoptados y mi hijo Nathan nació prematuro y tuvo muchos retrasos. Una lección aprendida por la jornada de Nathan es que el parto prematuro a alguien o algo puede causar retrasos. Le tomó más tiempo sentarse, gatear y caminar entre otras cuestiones. A veces, una respuesta prematura del Señor causará retrasos. Ahora espero y confío en que su tiempo es perfecto.

¿Cómo sé que sus promesas son verdaderas?  Puedo decirles muchos ejemplos tangibles de la forma en que se cumplen sus promesas para mi familia y yo. Un matrimonio restaurado, abundancia, crecimiento y salud, pero su palabra es lo que quiero dejar hoy con ustedes porque nunca volverá vacia.

Dios no es humano, que debe mentir,

no un ser humano, que cambie de opinión.

¿Habla y no actúa?

¿Promete y no cumple?

Descansaremos en él, confiemos en que él está trabajando en sus promesas para nosotros. Respira profundo conmigo ahora mismo. Cierra los ojos por un segundo y entrega el control. Respira profundo y cree.
