Lost & Found

This month, we rejoice in Christ who led us from death to life. We can gladly boast in our weakness because in our weakness, we have been found by Jesus.

Key Points

Rejoice, for you have been found by Jesus!

We follow Jesus’ commission when we share the Good News of Christ to the hurting and lost.

The greatest reward is found in Jesus, not in personal records, goal weights, or body fat percentage.

We celebrate one another’s victories and blessings because the Kingdom of God is one of abundance, not scarcity!

We run to Jesus in repentance because in Christ, even our sin cannot separate us from the love of God.

There is room in our classes and groups for the hurting and lost.

The saving embrace of Jesus is open to all who will receive Him.

We are unafraid to preach the gospel as we lead others to move in joy!

Scripture

What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray.” Matthew 18:12-13

“Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it? And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:8-10

“And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours. It was fitting to celebrate and be glad, for this your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found.’” Luke 15:31-32

“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” Luke 19:10

“And when Jesus heard it, he said to them, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.’” Mark 2:17

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

“But the Lord answered her, ‘Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.’” Luke 10:41-42

Quotes

“I am beginning now to see how radically the character of my spiritual journey will change when I no longer think of God as hiding out and making it as difficult as possible for me to find him, but, instead, as the one who is looking for me while I am doing the hiding.” ― Henri J.M. Nouwen, Return of the Prodigal Son

“The deeper into weakness and suffering and testing we go, the deeper Christ’s solidarity with us. As we go down into pain and anguish, we are descending ever deeper into Christ’s very heart, not away from it.” ― Dane Ortlund, Gentle and Lowly

“We need Jesus like we need oxygen. Like we need water. Like the branch needs the vine. Jesus is not merely a figure for devotions. He is the missing essence of your existence. Whether we know it or not, we are desperate for Jesus.” ― John Eldredge, Beautiful Outlaw: Experiencing the Playful, Disruptive, Extravagant Personality of Jesus

Taking this starting assessment is a powerful first step on your journey toward growth and transformation. Think of it as a pin on a map—it shows you where you are right now in mind, body, and spirit. This tool is about awareness, not judgment. It doesn’t define you or your worth; it’s simply a way to understand your starting point so you can create a purposeful plan for where you want to go. Remember, you are a good body, beautifully made by God, exactly as you are today. This is about building on that foundation with love and intention.
