How to Use Christian Workouts to Reach Your Fitness Goals

*Blog updated July 2024

Jennifer shares how she uses RWTV to stay on the journey of health and wellness.

If you’ve ever worked on a DIY project, one of the first things you need to do is assemble all the tools needed to finish the project. I don’t know about you, but there’s been plenty of times that I have not planned well enough and end up halfway through a project finding myself in need of some kind of tool or supply.

As much as we’d like to be able to complete these projects with what we have on hand, we often need additional resources.

Maybe that is how you’re feeling right now with your fitness and health goals. Maybe that’s how you feel in your spiritual life also. You don’t have all of the tools or supplies to “do the job.”

Luckily, you don’t need any fancy tools or even much equipment to reach your fitness goals. Our approach here at Revelation Wellness is to move you in fun, effective, gospel-soaked Christian workouts that can help you reach your fitness goals, but more often, they help you be grateful for the good body you’re in.

You in? Let’s get started:

First Step: Mindset

Healthy goal setting begins with a healthy mindset.

Health and wellness is not a destination but a journey.

We cannot achieve health and wellness rather, we engage in daily habits and practices that have us on the path of health and wellness.

Scripture tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV) “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” Daily practices, whatever you do, do for the glory of God.”

Here are several tools to help you form a healthy and whole mindset:

1. The Bible: God's Word

“Set your mind on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.” Colossians 3:2

Starting each day by reading, studying, and meditating on the Bible has a tremendous impact on where your heart and mind are centered throughout the day.

Are you obsessing over your weight, or are you focused on the needs of others? Are your time and energy spent on self-improvement, or do you long to serve God?

Spend time in God’s Word every day. It can serve as a mirror of grace showing you the glory of God and your need for Him.

2. The Wellness Revelation

If you haven’t had the opportunity to work your way through The Wellness Revelation: An 8-Week Journey To Lose What Weighs You Down So You Can Love God, Yourself, and Others, now is the time.

It not only engages you in The Word through insightful questions, study and prayer, but it helps to shift your mindset to that of being Healthy and Whole.

You can even find a 21-day and 40-day YouVersion plan on  YouVersion App!

3. On-Demand Christian Fitness Library: RevWell TV

You might be thinking, “how can workout videos help me?”

Well, RevWell TV has hundreds of workout videos and wonderful teaching videos such as: “Beginning a Rhythm of Wellness and Exercise” with Bri or “Worshipping God” with Summer.

So, you may not be a reader but you can certainly be a listener and a watcher. Grab a journal and a cup of tea. Sit back and be ready to learn.

Sometimes in our lives, we don’t know where or how to start. So let this be a reminder for you. Start with God. Then grab your tools. And get to work on the journey to be healthy and whole.

Second Step: Action

When our priorities are straight and our mind is set on the things of Christ, the next step is action.

In The Wellness Revelation, Alisa Keeton describes Jesus as our Personal Trainer. So, when we’re ready to take action, we seek him for the path.

Jesus can take you in many different directions, but I found great success using Christian workouts from RevWell TV!

These Christian fitness workouts helped me reach my fitness and health goals in a way that other workouts did not.

It’s not that any of the exercises are different than other programs, but the message and purpose for the workout are clearly founded on the Word of God and His purposes for our body.

So, one of my favorite action tools for health and wholeness is RevWell TV.

RevWell TV offers you a monthly calendar of workouts for exercise at all levels, from beginners to advanced and everything in between.

Some months I will commit to following along with the calendar each day. I will save the calendar for quick access or even print it out so I have it visible in my home gym.

Other months I’ll use it to narrow my search in finding a workout for the day or in planning my week. The calendar helps to guide your work and rest days as well as offers a suggested teaching video for the month.

If planning isn’t really for you, the search option on the RevWell TV option is fantastic. You can search videos based on intensity, type, equipment, and length.

You can find all of this and MORE on RevWell TV through the RW+ Membership!

Love > Fear

Don’t be afraid to press play. Give a workout a try. If you like it, then click the heart on the video preview to mark that video as your favorite. And, then you can go right to your favorites tab and choose one of your favorites.

If you don’t like it, press into the uncomfortable. It is through being uncomfortable that we make a change.

So, lean into the discomfort (not pain) and consider something new, consider something different, consider something out of your comfort zone.

Remember that we “can do all things through him who strengthens us” (Philippians 4:13).

Sometimes in our lives, we don’t know where or how to start.

So here’s your reminder.

Start with God. Then grab your tools. And get to work on the journey to be healthy and whole.

Taking this starting assessment is a powerful first step on your journey toward growth and transformation. Think of it as a pin on a map—it shows you where you are right now in mind, body, and spirit. This tool is about awareness, not judgment. It doesn’t define you or your worth; it’s simply a way to understand your starting point so you can create a purposeful plan for where you want to go. Remember, you are a good body, beautifully made by God, exactly as you are today. This is about building on that foundation with love and intention.
