Karen shares practical tips to help you meet with God throughout your busy day.

The early morning alarm interrupts my sound sleep. I quickly shut it off and roll out of bed. Lacing up the shoes to prepare for my morning ‘walk and talk’ with the Lord, I realize some days are easier than others to get started. Hitting snooze today would have been easier.
Why do I get up early when others are fast asleep?
I’ve learned that my most important appointment of the day is this time to walk and talk with the Lord.
Be Still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
Do you plan regular time with the Lord? Or does your day fill up so quickly that time with God is put on the sidelines?
The Bible tells us that Jesus often retreated from the crowds to spend time with His heavenly Father (Luke 5:16). If Jesus, the Son of God, needed time away from the hustle and bustle of life, how much more do we need to spend regular time soaking in His presence?
Even if your season of life doesn’t have space for an extended “quiet time,” there are rich and satisfying ways you can spend time with Jesus in your regular, daily routine. There are many opportunities for you to rest in God’s peace on even the busiest days.
Tips to get started:
1. Start small. A few minutes of quiet can be a time to breathe and refresh as you spend those moments resting in His presence.
2. Be intentional. Each day, make it a priority to meet with God.
3. Make it a daily commitment. I once read it takes 60 days to make a habit change automatic so, take it a day at a time.
Ideas for your moments with God:
1. The ABCs of God: To help me clear my mind and focus on the Lord, I like to start my walks by using the ABC’s to think of words that describe my Jesus.
A Awesome B Beautiful C Counselor D Divine EFG Eternal Father God,….. and when I get to z….He is zealous for me; I find the ‘weights of life’ aren’t quite so heavy, and I walk with my head a little higher!
2. Pause: Find snippets of time throughout your day to pause and get your body involved. Stretch, raise your arms in praise, move side to side. Try breathing prayer or breathing exercises. Look around and observe your environment. Talk to God as a friend.
The RW+ App sends you daily reminders to pause and read God’s word!
3. Daily Chores: As you do everyday chores, reflect on God’s love, mercy, and grace using verses on notecards or a Bible app.
4. Podcasts: Instead of scrolling through social media, listen to a podcast that offers hope and encouragement.
5. Evening: In the evening, use your meal time or right before bed to pray.
6. Bedtime: Think of the many blessings the Lord has provided that day. Instead of counting sheep or adding to the mental to-do list. Praise Him, knowing there is no better way to fall asleep than in His presence.

We find time to do the things we want to do. Have I missed my regular morning routine? Yes! Unexpected circumstances and life events happen, but the ‘snippets’ of time get me through those moments. Jesus is always with you.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
Life is hard, with unexpected twists, turns, detours, and roadblocks. But remember, we don’t need to navigate this journey alone. God walks before us.
“You hem me in, behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me.” Psalm 139:5
Just a little ‘tweak’ in your routine to sit and ‘be still and know that He is God’ can be part of your day that gives you the power and assurance that no matter what lies ahead, He will see you through.
