So instead of sitting at your desk for hours, try standing, or add a few squats or jumping jacks to break up your sitting.

What are the Songs of Ascent?

Songs of Ascent is a title given to Psalms 120–134. These songs were sung as God’s people would pilgrimage three times a year to the temple in Jerusalem to celebrate the feasts: the Feast of Passover in the spring, the Feast of Pentecost in early summer, and the Feast of Tabernacles in August. These Psalms are also called Songs of Steps, songs for going up to worship, Songs of Elevation or Pilgrim Songs. 

Just as the Hebrew people took time together to journey up to Jerusalem, we too get to take time to journey with the Lord and each other over 21 days. As a community, we get to reflect on His good love for us, worship Him with our hearts and minds, and pray for our homes, communities, and world. We get to share with one another what we’re learning as we slow down our bodies, hearts, and minds to hear from our Creator. Whether it’s through the Walking Prayer Facebook Group or a local in-person group, we were made for community and we get to share in the journey together! What a privilege and honor!
