Hello Friends! Welcome to Week 1!

We are so glad you’re here! We’ve been praying for you and this journey we are embarking on together!

This week, we begin our training! You can refer to your training plan in your portal at any point to see your daily recommended training protocol but also know that we’ll remind you here in your weekly content.

Hebrews 4:12 tells us that ‘the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.’

Because we know and believe that, we’ll always start your weekly training content with a power verse that you can work on memorizing. As you walk, meditate on this verse. You can even set the image as a lock screen on your phone if you’d like!

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Before we begin our first walk. Before we make any plans. Before we set out to crush our goals. Before any of our workouts… let’s seek Him. Let’s present our very selves to Him and ask Him to reveal to us if there are any places where we need His help.

Are there areas where you’ve been:

» Hiding?
» Performing?
» Withdrawing or withholding?
» Comparing?
» Criticizing or shaming? 

He’s kind to reveal to us areas where He wants to bring healing and reconciliation. Ask Him, and then obey what He tells you.

Week 1 Training Plan

Rest Day

Rest! Set some goals for the week ahead and determine when you’ll get in your training walks and cross-training workout. Consider what foods might fuel you best to love as you begin this journey utilizing your training guide nutrition content. Reach out to a friend and see if they might want to join you for a walk this week.

15 min walk

Here we go! Your first training walk! All we’re looking for here is 15 minutes at a nice, steady pace. Consider utilizing the Love-Paced Race Music playlists to accompany you on your walk if you’d like. You can find them HERE. 

Cross Train

One of the best ways to make sure we’re training well and avoiding injuries during this journey is going to be cross-training. Today, we suggest you do Workout # _______ with Alisa, where she’s going to walk you through some basic strength training exercises that are perfect to accompany the Love-Paced Race Training.

15 min walk

Today, during your 15-minute training walk, we’re challenging you to try to train in silence and solitude! What does that mean? No music. No scrolling on your phone. No distractions. Just you and the Lord training together.
While you walk, here is a question to consider: How is God inviting me to see Him today?

Rest or cross train

Today, you can choose if you need to rest to prepare for your walks this weekend or if you’d rather cross-train. Utilize the workouts you have access to here through LPR, or choose a way to train that brings you life and joy!

1.75 mile walk

35-60 min walk

These will be your longest walks this week. While you walk, listen to training episode # ________. We know you’re going to love hearing from _____ as she discusses _________.  We’ve also got an episode that we pulled from _____ about ______ that we thought you might enjoy.  Please note you can choose to listen to these podcasts any day of the week if this suggested schedule doesn’t work for you.

This week, let’s look at what Human Trafficking is so we can better understand how to work and pray against it.

Human trafficking is the illegal trade of human beings, mainly for the purposes of forced labor and sex trafficking.

Global Human Trafficking Statistics 

→ It is estimated that anywhere between 20.9 million and 45.8 million people are held in slavery today. More than at any other time in history. 

→ Approximately 71% of human trafficking victims are women and girls. 

→ Up to 50% of female victims are minors. 

→ Human trafficking generates an estimated USD $150.2 billion per year. 

→ Traffickers face a mere 1% chance of ever being prosecuted.

Psalm 10:17 O Lord, you hear the desire of the afflicted;

    you will strengthen their heart; you will incline your ear

Pray that those being trafficked would know and believe that the Lord hears and that He will strengthen them.
