Revelation Wellness Instructor Certification consists of two parts: a 9-week training program and a 4-day virtual retreat intensive (Fall) or 5-day live retreat intensive (Spring). You must complete both components to complete your certification.​

Time Commitment

You can expect to spend no less than 9 hours per week on home study during the 9-week/10 session training process. Please see the outline below as to how your weekly hourly requirements will be fulfilled.  These times are estimations.

Home Bible Study

(1-2 hours weekly.) We will study the book of Nehemiah. A leader of his people, Nehemiah was a man of God who sought, served, and loved God undoubtedly.  He had a heart after God’s own heart and desired to see his people and their homeland restored to its once bestowed beauty. Each week you will do your self-study at home and come prepared to your online classroom, ready to share.

Weekly Webinar/ Online Classroom

(1.5 hours weekly) We meet via webinar every week for 90 minutes using the free software, Zoom. The entire training is 9 sessions, with an introductory session for 10 weeks total. In each weekly webinar, we examine the previous week’s Bible study, answer questions on the practicum of teaching faith-based group (or functional)  fitness, review and discuss The Wellness Revelation curriculum, and share what God has shown us regarding our call and our passion to lead others to health and wholeness.

Weekly Video Tutorials

(1.5 hours weekly) You will watch weekly tutorial videos led by Alisa Keeton and a team of Lead Instructors. These videos will provide an in-depth review of key elements of teaching group fitness classes. You will need a good internet connection for the best experience.

 

Weekly Exercise and Nutrition

(2.5 hours weekly min.) We must practice what we are being called to teach. Each student agrees to be physically active and to move at least 4x/week and no more than 6x/week. Each person is asked to practice good food choices by living mindfully and practicing what you’re learning in training. As you are in training, you’ll be challenged to reexamine everything you think you know about food and exercise as you grow in understanding of God’s love for you and the Truth of His word.

READING/ JOURNALING

2-4 hours weekly

Prayer/
Meditation

(1 hour weekly) One of the most overlooked aspects of readiness and preparation for the calling on our lives is to make time to be still – to sit, listen, and hear from God. Each instructor in training will find it essential to be a person of prayer during and after certification. Perhaps you already have a personal prayer practice, but if you do not, it is time to begin. Be disciplined about setting aside a specific time that you will “be still and know” (Psalm 46:10). A minimum of 5-10 minutes/day is a good place to start.

Weekend Movement workshops

(6 hours total) On three Saturdays within the training period, we will meet to move and learn together. Workshops will be 2 hours where you get to apply some of your training to practical, physical practice.

Fall 2022 Platoon 29 Instructor Training VIRTUAL 4 Day Retreat Intensive*

Platoon 29will be experiencing a Virtual 4-Day Retreat Intensive.

The 4-day Virtual Retreat Intensive is a time to go deep and experience intimacy with God, alongside others, in a safe and healthy environment. Virtual Retreat is designed to help set you free because only free people are ready to free people. It will prepare you for the call of being an ambassador of hope to the fitness world. It also gives you more practice time to learn how to teach effective, safe, and Spirit-filled fitness classes and Wellness Revelation small groups. We highly recommend that you make the effort to be free of all distractions for these four days.

Whether you select our in-person Revelation Wellness Instructor Training experience or our Virtual Revelation Wellness Instructor Training experience, you can expect to receive the following:

– 9 weeks of online, at-home training via weekly Zoom calls with Revelation Wellness Lead Instructors
– Weekly video training, customized for your chosen training track
– Weekly small-group time with others in your training platoon
– Weekly leadership Bible study
– A retreat intensive experience (either virtual or in-person) to wrap up your training

The only difference between virtual or in-person training is the retreat intensive experience! For our in-person retreat intensive, you will travel to Arizona to complete your training with your entire training platoon. Our virtual retreat intensive can be done entirely at home, online. Regardless of which experience you choose, you can expect to go deep with God and others in a safe and healthy environment. Your retreat is designed from start to finish to be a time to help you experience lasting freedom!
