DAY 1

WID (Work-IN of the Day)

Warriors Know Where to Get Their Strength

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4

Welcome, Warrior!

I have to believe that you’re here and you’ve chosen this challenge because you know that you were born for a battle.

In the depths of your soul, there is a call to something greater than yourself. It’s a mission not just for physical health, but a desire in the core of your being to be free and to see others set free from the pains and patterns that hold them back and hold them down.

You are here to be a warrior for the Kingdom of God.

To answer this call and to fight this battle, you’ll need to start by knowing where your strength comes from.

It doesn’t take us long in life to realize that we are limited creatures. No matter how hard we train, how well we eat, or how much education, training, and experience we receive, we eventually come to the end of ourselves. But still, we fool ourselves into believing that we can be good enough, smart enough, and strong enough in our own strength. So we fight this battle on our own, trying to find identity and freedom on our terms. We obsess over or shame our bodies, and instead of finding freedom, we find only slavery because we believe the lie that we can save ourselves.

True kingdom warriors find strength and freedom first and ultimately in their identities as children of God.

The ultimate warrior, Jesus Christ, knew that the ability to fulfill his mission on this earth was contingent upon receiving and resting in his relationship with the Father. It’s why in the Gospels we see Jesus getting away to quiet places to be alone with his Father — to be filled with the strength, knowledge, and love he needed to know who he was and what his mission was. It’s what sustained him daily to fight the battle that ultimately would win the war against sin and death and set the sons and daughters of God free.

Today, you are invited to join in the fight for freedom as a fully known and fully loved child of God.

Armor up by meeting with your Savior.

Sit with Him and let Him love you. Let Him fill you with the strength and power you need to fulfill the mission for which you were born. Then move your body in joy and freedom, battling alongside Him for the freedom of others.
