Get out your pen and journal for this quick but POWERFUL teaching from Amia Freeman!

Amia teaches on Luke 4 – the temptation of Jesus. From Luke 4, she shares four ways the enemy wants to isolate us and get us out of communion with others, ourselves, and God.  She shares insightful questions to help you recognize these temptations and get free with the help of the Holy Spirit and God’s Word.

Journaling Questions:

  • What are my core values?

  • What are the non-negotiables concerning your marriage, your body, your parenting, etc.?

  • Where is the enemy tempting me? What does God say?

  1. What a word! Thank you amia! this was such an encouragement. i’m excited to invite god into my wilderness of temptation.

  2. I did this work out today, first in a whole long time. I now have a knee replacement so it makes some of the exercises difficult but he said do the best you can just keep on moving. Thank you!

  3. Wow, AMia! BLESS YOU FOR BRINGING THESE WORDS OF TRUTH TO THE COMMUNITY! THEY PIERCED MY HEART AND CONVICTED MY SPIRIT, AT THE SAME TIME EQUIPPING ME WITH NEW TOOLS OF WATCHFULNESS SO THAT I CAN BE ON GUARD FOR THE WAYS THE ENEMY TRIES TO SEPARATE ME FROM GOD. PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING FOR YOUR ANOINTING AND FOR YOUR OBEDIENCE, AND PRAYERS OF BLESSING ON YOUR LIFE AND MINISTRY.

    WITH LOVE AND THANKS,

  4. Amia,

    Your tEaching came right on time. The words really resonated In my spirit. I will study Luke 4 this week. Thank you for being a vessel to others.

  5. Thank you, Mira, for including in the Bible study the importance of community. Due to family member’s health issues and to focus on what God has called me to do, this past year I’ve intentionally not rejoined face-to-face study and social groups. Yet, in a time when I, and many others, are isolating physically, I needed your message about community. You’ve encouraged me to reach out to women through digital pathways. With my fears and lack of knowledge, I am not able to do this. But God is able. I need to obey and walk in lockstep with Jesus.

    Thank you for ALSO speaking to us what the Holy Spirit illuminated to you about what Jesus teaches us about temptation. For me, each point connects to the sugar fast when God showed me:
    1. Some of the lies I believe about Him, He who is Trustworthy and Truth, and that God is God and I am not;
    2. Just as each sunrise, sunset, and work of creation is a work of art by our Master’s hand, so am I, and each of us, a Master-piece, His delight, precious in His sight;
    3. Dangers of sugar and high glycemic foods to Holy Spirit temples created to worship Him, and to thank Him for His warning signals;
    4. Benefits to me and to others when I strop striving and worshipping work achievements (my desire) and instead to rest and receive His peace and joy of worshipping Him. As an extra blessing, He gave me direction I needed on a writing project when I acknowledged Him as my perfect Boss. God is good.

  6. All I can say is whoa! When God speaks into the deepest parts of us, hold on tight. This about knocked me off of my seat. Thank you for sharing. I absolutely needed to hear this today!
