Phoenix, AZ—December 23, 2024—This year, the Honolulu Marathon held special significance for Revelation Wellness and those participating in its walking training program, the Love-Paced Race. Since June, more than 2,100 participants trained to walk a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or full marathon. On December 8, 2024, the six-month training culminated in Hawaii as more than 50 team members walked 26.2 miles celebrating the Love-Paced Race. A pre-reception was held the evening before to welcome participants and share in prayer and worship.
The Love-Paced Race is a unique program designed to train participants to move at the speed of love, where personal bests and timed finishes were never the goal. Kara Osborne, Executive Director of Experience with Revelation Wellness, sees the Love-Paced Race as a way to learn to slow down and train in an often undervalued way. Osborne explains, “What makes the Love-Paced Race so special is that this training truly looks at the integration of the mind, body, and spirit.” She offers that the Love-Paced Race is more than just marathon training, “It’s a program for all body abilities and all fitness levels where we’re moving toward better health—from mindset to movement.”
Alisa Keeton, CEO and founder of Revelation Wellness, wanted the Love-Paced Race to be about something other than striving or performing. She explains, “It was never about being fast or first but finishing well. I wanted to create space for a community to train together and wrap sweat and muscle around the word of God, believing that ALL things are possible through Him.” Keeton acknowledged that most participants had never trained for or completed a marathon but said, “What I saw on race day was people of all paces and abilities walking at the speed of love. It was a beautiful and holy sight and what the body of Christ looks like in motion.”
Ministry leaders such as Ann Voskamp, Lisa Whittle, Phylicia Masonheimer, Nicole Unice, Nina Landis, Jami Nato, Ashley Minor, Jamie Ivey, and Nika Maples partnered with Revelation Wellness to help lead the training. The 27-week program included curated audio, devotionals, cross-training, podcasts, and live workshops. Ivey, Landis, and Unice also traveled to Hawaii to participate in the Honolulu Marathon with the Revelation Wellness team. Unice said, “The Love-Paced Race was nothing short of transformative. From the training to race day, I was blown away by the community, the healing, and THE JOY of reaching for this audacious goal together. More than anything, I actually experienced what it means to move at the pace of love—with God, with myself, and with so many others.”

Michele Tupen, a Revelation Wellness staff member and breast cancer survivor, knew this race would be memorable as her first marathon since her diagnosis. In many ways, she explained, training and completing a marathon has parallels to the faith journey. She said, “It’s hard and sometimes exhausting, but no one else can do it for you.” Tupen started the December 8 race one year after completing an intense chemotherapy regimen with a feeling of joy and freedom. When she crossed the finish line, she said God whispered, “Welcome to the Promised Land—you are healed and free!” It was a full-circle moment for Tupen.
Leanne Seeley, who serves on the board of Revelation Wellness, also participated in the Honolulu Marathon. Seeley shared, “Completing a marathon with Revelation Wellness and the Love-Paced Race community was a highlight of my year!” She explained, “I will never forget standing on a balcony overlooking the ocean with our community, singing and worshiping together the night before the race—hearing the stories of how the Lord worked through so many of us through training and race day was so powerful.” The race was a memorable experience for Seeley, who said, “Walking with new and old friends was an experience I will never forget.”
Revelation Wellness is proud to have partnered with A21, donating a portion of the proceeds of the Love-Paced Race to help fight human trafficking. As an organization that seeks to free those in bondage worldwide, Revelation Wellness felt that supporting A21 aligned with its core values of helping to bring healing and hope to the body of Christ. These values remained central in the teachings and training of the Love-Paced Race.
