What will you do as a fitness teacher, gospel preacher?

Feeling stuck? There are many ways you can use your Christian Fitness Instructor Training. Michelle how God led her to use her new skills.

Training is over. Now what?

Has God done “immeasurably more than you can ask or imagine” in your life? He blew me away recently.

Upon returning from Revelation Wellness Instructor Training Retreat with Platoon 21, I wanted to rush out into my community and share anything and everything Revelation Wellness!

Still, the mountaintop experience at retreat showed me that God’s presence is strongest when I am still.

He intended for me to wait.

So, I waited, though aching to start something. My heart settled into the posture of “waiting expectantly,” knowing God would move in His timing.

A Vision for Ministry

During additional leadership training through Revelation Wellness, I realized my deep desire to teach, lead, and do life with teens.

For years, I have spent time with teens at youth group, home-school co-ops, and doing life with our own teen. Now, Revelation Wellness gave me something more to offer to them, specifically, His freedom.

“Show me how God,” I asked. “Wait,” was His reply.

Months went by, and I was growing restless. So I put out feelers about leading “The Wellness Revelation” book study at church, in our home, at the YMCA, or maybe offering it to the Community Center. People smiled, but no one seemed particularly ready to commit.

I concluded it wasn’t for me, due to the needs of homeschooling our 10-year-old daughter. What was she going to do while I taught? Sit on the floor and color?

Following God Forward

I continued waiting on God. Then, within a 24-hour period, another Revelation Wellness Instructor and a friend from church (neither knowing the other) suggested I create a Revelation Wellness fitness program for kids 8-11 years old and their moms.

What?! This was no coincidence. I got still before the Lord.

I thought of our energetic, social butterfly daughter in a fitness class. She would rather lead from the front than follow along. It put a smile on my face.

In my mind, I saw her and all her little buddies exercising, but I could never picture them participating through a whole exercise session. I laughed.

“God, You are really funny! How in the world would this work?”

When I finally settled down, I heard, “They are your future teens, and your daughter is actively participating right alongside you.”

This struck my heart hard. God was unveiling His promises.

First, He knew my love for teens and long ago blessed me in many ways to speak into their lives. Secondly, He knew my secret prayer. He heard the cry of my heart as I nursed Sedona as a baby that someday she and I would be women of faith working together to bring Him glory.

My Father burst open doors. Not only with Revelation Wellness but to (future) teens, with a ministry, Sedona and I would launch together.

These deep places within my hoping heart could only ever have been revealed by God. He desires to give us immeasurably more.

Do we dare to dream big and dream outside the box? Do something outrageously unique? Press the envelope on being different? Do we believe He will go above and beyond what we can ask or imagine? If you don’t think He can or that He will, have you asked yourself why or why not?

Brave Moms Get Fit with Courageous Kids

The ministry, Brave Moms Get Fit with Courageous Kids, launched last month with the help of my dear church friend Jane (a future Revelation Wellness instructor).

Our program folds many different aspects of wellness together in a holistic way.

We begin by practicing leadership through meeting and greeting each other with handshakes, introductions, and smiles. This is followed by instructions about the body — posture, core, breathing, and general health principles. We apply this information during our 20-minute workouts.

After a quick break and a deliciously healthy snack, we settle into a time to study our Bibles. The kids eagerly read verses, discuss what they observe, and share how they can apply Scripture to their lives. The final formal lesson is focused on nutrition. They learn about drinking plenty of water, limiting sugars, deciding well among types of carbohydrates, and making overall healthful nutritional choices.

Finally, we leave time for them to build friendships. In the meantime, moms (and grandmas who attend and participate with their grandkids) enjoy the time to fellowship.

God's Immeasurably More Ministry

God is working in this ministry in ways beyond our imagination.

The kids love the movement and truly live out what they learned during the week, ready to talk to each other and tell more friends about their fitness program. We notice how relaxed and joyful the moms are among each other. This confirms that moving bodies moves hearts, and sets people free.

There’s no way, in my wildest imagination, that a program like this would be successful. But this I know for sure—Sedona is ecstatic about picking songs and practicing choreography with me. She is so inspired to share what she knows with her friends, and together these future teens are growing in Christ and bringing glory to God.

Moms are seeing the value of this program through the eyes of their kids, believing they, too, can improve their health as they keep God first in every part of life.

Revelation Wellness is unknown in our town, but through our Moms and Kids fitness program, word is getting out.

Our hope is for kids to learn they can worship God and be healthy through movement. We also desire to reach women, hoping their involvement will lead them into participating in The Wellness Revelation study, leading them to complete freedom and giving God all the glory.

The best of this “immeasurably more” ministry is that God shows up and proves Himself faithful again and again. He blessed me with a ministry that I GET TO share with my daughter – future teen, a growing woman of faith. We serve an amazing God.
