God has something to say about your food and your body. Are you listening?

God Cares For Your Body
Our faith in Christ isn’t compartmentalized only to spiritual matters of our life; instead, our faith in Christ has an impact on all the aspects of our lives from the entertainment we consume to the work we do to our health journey.
Why does God care for our wellness – mind, body, and spirit?
First, because God created us! Genesis 1:27 reads, “So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” On the sixth day, with humanity as the pinnacle of His creation, God looked at all He made and called it very good (31).
Second, because the Holy Spirit dwells in us right now! In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Paul writes, “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”
Jesus’ followers in the church in Corinth had been using their bodies in ways that did not glorify God – namely, sexual immorality and committing other sins with their bodies. Paul urged them to remember that the Holy Spirit lived in them as God had dwelled in the temple. So, their bodies were to be treated as holy and sacred before God.
While our flesh may desire things that corrupt our bodies, we were not made for those things. We were made to desire, consume, participate in, and receive things that reflect the goodness, love, and purity of our Father.
Your Were Born An Intuitive Eater
So what does your faith have to do with Intuitive Eating?
Everything! From Genesis through Revelation, we are reminded over and over again that God is the God of all good things. Your body is good. Food is good. Your body is made to do good things.
The practice of Intuitive Eating is to learn to trust yourself with the good things God has given you. It is the practice of getting in tune with how God made your body to function in the beginning. Specifically, we learn how to properly use food to nourish our bodies without obsession or neglect. When we trust ourselves with the abundance of food God has provided, trusting God is good, you can say goodbye, forever, to anybody else’s opinion of you, your body, and what you should eat or drink.
Learning to trust your hunger and satiation cues might sound like a scary thing if, for as far back as you can remember, you’ve been listening to the world’s prescription of what you should eat or drink. But the truth is you were BORN an Intuitive Eater.
You can relearn the eating habits you once knew as good, but bad news and troubles of this world came and stole. We are born intuitively drawn to good for the purposes of multiplying good.
The practice of Intuitive Eating is to learn to trust yourself with the good things God has given you.

Relentless Faith Instead of Restrictive Eating
Revelation 3:19 says “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”
Right now! God is standing at the door of your heart and knocking. He wants to come in and eat with you. How cool is that! God isn’t asking you to find your way back to His design for your body alone, He wants to come with you.
But, this will take persistent faith!
We are going to replace our strict meal plans and indulgent binging with relentless faith in a good, trustworthy God.
We are going to cultivate a heart of trust in a good God who gave you a good body and wants you to enjoy good things.
Worship is anything that pleases God’s heart. You, trusting yourself wholeheartedly to Him with all things, including your body and food, pleases his heart.
Are you WILLING to open the door and let Him come in and eat with you? Are you eager to let Him teach you the fearful and wonderful things about you? Will you have faith in this Intuitive Eating journey?
